le week-end

a quick recap of the past few days in pictures:

on saturday, brown took a trip to chartres! the famous gothic cathedral! took a train ride an hour outside the city, froze our asses off admiring funky sculpture and ambulating around the ambulatory.

we had a great meal in town, featuring such things as fish souffle (ok that wasn't so great, i mean why?) and chocolate fondant with coconut sorbet and grapefruit syrup (much better).

also, sofia came to visit! we did lots of walking around the marais and found ourselves at the musee carnavalet, a museum that exhibits works related to parisian history..17 - 20th century paintings, lots of reconstructed rooms with luxurious rococo stuff and chandeliers and insane wallpaper...

but of course i prefer the garden:


lastly, visited max in pigalle, the sexy district. meant to walk up to the montmartre cemetery but it was closed. so, instead we saw:
