i hope to update this with pictures from mon sejour ici a paris. please take a look and comment and learn about my life :)
there has been a lot of excitement this past week or so, and many more pictures than i want to share. here are a couple of things, starting with the most recent:
this is my attempt at capturing the insanity of the bar where we watched inauguration last night. can't really see anything, sorry. but the point is that when we got to the expat bar there was a line out the door, so we had to go next door and squish into a "piano bar." thank god they put it on in english! also, i love aretha.
in other news:
yesterday i had my first macaron. it was delicious. now i understand the hype. here is a picture of a santa made out of macarons - the first picture i took here. there are patisseries on every block. it is wonderful.
i have an apartment in the eleventh. lookie look: (pictures of interior to come)

un serrurerie - a key/lock shop. not too exciting actually. but it always makes me think of louis xvi because he was really into making keys for some reason. there's also a newsstand below us though, which is convenient!
